Studio/Maintenance Engineer, Sioux Falls

The Studio/Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintenance of broadcast and technology related equipment at the studio and general maintenance of the main studio/station.

Experience:
• Oversee, maintain, and repair broadcast, and signal distribution systems.
• Provide maintenance services to the main Studio Broadcast facilities and venues.
• Participate in evaluating, selecting, installing, servicing, documenting, and maintaining broadcast equipment and information technology systems in the studio.
• Help implement new technologies and technical infrastructure for the facility.
• Work closely with management and co-workers to meet company objectives.
• Interface with outside vendors for repairs or upgrades on systems.
• Understand and assist in compliance with rules and regulations applicable to FCC, local, state, and federal laws.
• Maintain the building and grounds of the studio and interact with vendors from outside the company for advanced maintenance needs.
• 2nd shift 2pm-11pm
• Other duties as needed.
Requirements:
• Previous broadcast engineering experience and building maintenance preferred.
• Experience operating, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic broadcast equipment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of AC and DC power systems and test equipment preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Good hand dexterity, ability to climb ladders, work in tight spots, lift minimum 50 lbs.
• Polite composure under stress is required.
• Basic knowledge and experience using hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of common business software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook) a plus.
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• This position will require occasional weekend and holiday work, along with overtime as situations demand.
• On-Call rotation once trained.
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills, both oral and written with the ability to prioritize issues.
• Valid driver’s license: Some on-site troubleshooting.
• ‘Can Do’ attitude, desire to learn new skills consistent with good engineering/IT practices.
• Basic understanding of technical drawings and documents.
• Must be able to work independently, as well as collaboratively with other team members.
